Functions of the planning board

The planning function is divided between the Planning Board and three Area based Planning Committees. The Planning Board considers major strategic planning applications while the Area Committees consider non-strategic applications. Some planning decisions are taken by Officers in accordance with the Council’s constitution. Further information on the Planning function can be found under Part 3 of the Council’s constitution.

Meetings are held monthly at the Woolwich Town Hall at 6.30pm.

Attending planning meetings

You have a right to attend council meetings.

You have the right to attend planning meetings. The amount of time for speakers is stated in the procedure included in each meeting agenda but the Chair has the right to amend it.  

If you wish to speak at a meeting you must contact Corporate Governance (details below), stating

  • which item(s) you wish to speak on
  • whether you are speaking ‘for’, ‘against’, or just ‘commenting’ on the item
