Black and Ethnic Minority Education Advisory Committee
Functions of BEMEAC
The Black and Ethnic Minority Education Advisory Committee (BEMEAC) is an advisory body which advises on equal access to the education services provided by the Children's Services directorate. BEMEAC can ask for matters to be investigated and make recommendations accordingly.
BEMEAC seeks to ensure, within the Councils approved policies, that black people and other members of minority ethnic communities in the borough experience fair treatment and equal access to the services provided by the Education directorate.
BEMEAC can ask the education scrutiny panel to examine a particular matter and make recommendations accordingly.
