Area planning committees

Functions of area planning committees

Area planning committees are responsible for considering non-strategic planning applications where one of the following applies:

  • there are eight or more objections to the application and the Chief Officer's recommendation is to grant permission
  • a councillor whose ward the application site is in requests that the application be determined by a committee.
