Best value reviews
What are best value reviews?
Best value is about making sure Council services are always improving and provide value for money.
As part of its approach to achieving best value, the Council undertakes up to three reviews a year.|
The best value review programme was set up to look at issues that the public said were important to them.
Councillors, Council workers and stakeholders (for example residents, local businesses and community groups) are asked for their views.
The reviews challenge what the Council currently does by comparing its performance to that of other Councils, consulting local people about their needs and aspirations, and making sure that its services are competitive with the best.
As part of best value, three themes have been identified for review over 2011 to 2012.
There is a review team for each theme. The themes are:
- impact of 20mph zones
- personalisation of adult social care
- supporting educational attainment.
Progress and outcomes of reviews
Information on the progress on, or outcomes of, these reviews will be found in the Council's relevant best value performance plans.
When and where
The best value reviews are conducted within the Council's municipal year - June 2011 to May 2012.
Unless stated otherwise, meetings are held at Woolwich Town Hall at 7pm and are open to the public to attend.
Attending meetings
You have a right to attend any council meeting.
If you want to put forward a question on an agenda item for consideration at the meeting, it must be received in writing 24 hours before the meeting.
