Full Council meetings

What is a full Council meeting?

All 51 Greenwich Councillors meet regularly at a Full Council meeting to discuss and vote on key Council policies and strategies. These meetings are open to the public.

Dates and times

You can browse our online meetings and agendas calendar to find the next Full Council meeting.

Meetings are usually held on a monthly basis at Woolwich Town Hall at 7pm.

For more information on publication schedules, and how to find agenda hard copies and other Council papers, see link on the right.

Organisation

All Councillors (there are three Councillors for each ward) attend Full Council meetings.

The Councillors sit in their party political groupings with members of the Council's Cabinet in the front row. The Mayor controls the debate (much like the Speaker in the House of Commons).

Annual general meeting

The Council's annual general meeting (AGM) is held in May each year.

At this meeting, the Council sets the annual budget and Council Tax, appoints the Cabinet, decides who will sit on what committee and sets the year's agenda.

Attending meetings

You have a right to attend Council meetings.

If you want to raise an issue for discussion, it must be received in writing a week in advance.
