Your rights at Council meetings
Attending committee meetings
You have the right to attend any Council meeting except for the Leader's meeting and closed meetings. You can also ask questions at Council meetings.
Copies of agendas will also be available for public use during the meeting.
When and where
See the meetings schedule for dates and times of meetings. You can also find these details:
- at the Woolwich Library
- outside the Woolwich Town Hall
- in the Greenwich Time newspaper.
Who organises meetings?
Each meeting is organised by a Committee Officer whose contact details appear on the front of a Committee agenda. You can find their details on the Committee Services contact section.
Do I need to inform the Council if I plan to attend a meeting?
You are not obliged to let us know, but you should do if you wish to address the meeting. If you do inform us we can make sure we have sufficient seating.
What if I need a babysitter or carer in order to attend?
Allowances are available if you need a babysitter or carer in order to attend (except for Area Planning and Environment Committees). Please ask the Committee Officer for a form at the meeting.
Freedom of Information
The Freedom of Information (FOI) Act 2000 gives you the right of access to all types of recorded information held by public authorities.
