Report a child missing education

Children who are not in education

Please inform the Royal Borough of Greenwich if you know of a child of compulsory school age who:

  • is not on a school roll
  • is not being educated at home, privately, or in alternative provision
  • has been out of education for a substantial period of time (usually agreed as four weeks or more).

Please download a referral form and send the completed item to us at the address shown. You can also send it by fax.

The importance of education

Our aim is to ensure that every child and young person has the opportunity to fulfil their potential. Receiving an education is an important part of this.

We have a member of staff who is responsible for receiving details of children who are missing from education, and for arranging support for them through the most suitable agencies.
