Care home vacancies

The following vacancies are with a residential care home for older people, with branches in Blackheath and Beckenham.

Activities Team Leader

Hours: 35 per week
Salary: £20,020 per annum
Location: Blackheath

Main duties 

  • To ensure that individual residents' social, emotional and psychological needs are met by involving them in suitable activities
  • To lead the team of activity staff taking responsibility for their training and line management and working with them to plan a programme of activities for residents
  • To develop and manage a team of volunteers able to assist in activity programmes at the care home
  • To be an active member of the multidisciplinary team, ensuring the highest standards of resident care and that each resident achieves their maximum potential using a holistic approach
  • To maintain good communication at all times to ensure continuity of care and practice.

To apply you should have previous experience in a similar role. You will be required to pass an enhanced DBS disclosure check.

Bank chef

Hours: Casual, variety of shifts and hours available, Monday to Sunday
Salary: £9.43 per hour
Location: Blackheath

Main duties

  • Food preparation
  • Cleaning
  • Serving customers
  • Operating kitchen equipment

Skills and experience

  • Experience of working in a busy catering environment
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • A passion for food
  • A commitment to improving the nutrition of older people
  • A flexible approach to working (hours will vary)

Bank community nurse

Hours: Casual, variety of shifts and hours available, Monday to Sunday.
Salary: £15.58 per hour
Location: Blackheath

Main duties

  • Assisting residents to maintain their independence in their own homes
  • Advising on preventative healthcare, using a holistic approach
  • Providing treatment where relevant

Skills and experience

  • Be a professional registered nurse with community nursing experience
  • Have the ability to evaluate and deliver care packages, with excellent customer service skills
  • Have competent IT skills, with a knowledge of EMIS
  • Have your own transport

Bank healthcare assistant

Hours: Casual, variety of shifts and hours available, Monday to Sunday
Salary: £10.03 to £10.30 for day shifts, £11.03 to £11.30 for night shifts
Location: Blackheath

Main duties

  • Ensuring the highest standard of care to residents
  • Ensuring individuals reach their potential, through a holistic, person-centred approach
  • Supporting teams, covering a variety of early and late shifts, including weekends

Skills and experience

  • Be friendly, approachable and caring with good communication skills
  • Be able to work on your own initiative and as part of a team
  • Have some practical healthcare experience

A vocational health and social care qualification is desirable.

Bank Registered Nurse

Hours: Casual, variety of shifts and hours available, Monday to Sunday
Salary: £15.58 per hour for day shifts, £16.58 per hour for night shifts
Location: Blackheath

Registered nurse professionals wanted, with experience of providing care to older people, to support the care home nursing team. You will be involved in delivering the highest standard of nursing care, coordinating and providing care and treatment in line with NMC and CQC standards.

Skills and experience

  • Be a registered nurse with an up-to-date NMC pin number
  • Competent IT skills
  • Have experience in delivering palliative care to older people
  • Knowledge of the Care Act 2014, CQC inspections, NICE medication guidance for care homes and supporting older people with dementia
  • Be prepared to work flexibly.
