Pastry Chef

  • Salary: £16,000 per year
  • Hours: 45 hours per week

A vacancy has arisen for a Pastry Chef with one of London’s top artisan wholesale bakeries. Supplying artisan breads and pastries all over London, seven days a week, they have two retail outlets, in Greenwich and Notting Hill Gate. They are currently looking for an enthusiastic and skilled individual to join their pastry team. 

Essential skills and experience

  • Ablity to produce cakes to a high standard
  • Ablity to finish and decorate pastry products, including cakes
  • Good organisational skills to cope with a busy work schedule.

Main duties

Working together as a team, new staff are expected to contribute to maintaining and building positive working relationships.

You will also be expected to:

  • work flexible hours/weekends/bank and public holidays
  • be able to communicate effectively in English
  • be available to start immediately

Forklift Counterbalance Operator

Essential skills and experience

  • Must have a valid forklift counterbalance licence
  • Training to use a 360 grab provided
  • Experience of operating forklift

Grab operators

Three permanent positions are available for 360 grab operators. Training to use a counterbalance forklift will be provided. Immediate starts are available.

  • Salary: £23,000 per annum plus 5 per cent shift allowance and £2,000 increase after six-month probation
  • Contract: 38.5 hours a week - four days on, four days off, rotating between days and nights

Main duties

  • To assist in the day-to-day operational activities of a busy recycling plant 

Essential skills

  • Must have a valid 360 excavator ticket 
  • Experience of operating mobile or static plant machinery

IT Support Apprentice

  • Location: Based near Cannon Street/Bank
  • Salary: £11,000 per annum plus study and 25 days holiday per year

Key tasks

Provide excellent customer service in responding to user phone calls and tickets within agreed service level standards.

Provide IT support for basic user enquiries:

  • Printers
  • Microsoft office packages
  • Network issues and patching
  • Creating new accounts in active directory/exchange
  • Administer the booking of loan IT equipment
  • Develop and maintain user guides

Skills and aptitude


  • Willing to learn

  • Good time management and ability to prioritise and multitask

General manager

A traditional pub that is to open soon in General Gordon Square, Woolwich, is looking for a general manager.

Successful applicants will need to demonstrate that they are creative in their approach to managing a business, with a strong sense of leadership and the ability to deliver a high-quality product in a community-led environment.

Previous experience working for independent pubs or groups is an advantage.

The role will require you to:

  • Recruit and train a team, delivering a high standard of service
  • Recruit individuals to reflect the ethos of the pub

Ramp service assistants at London City Airport

  • Hours: Part time, 20 to 21 hours per week

  • Contract: Permanent after a six-month probation period 

The shift pattern is set by the employer. Patterns are set on a 13-week rolling roster, covering weekends and bank holidays. They will consist of a mixture of the two shifts below:

  • Early: Monday to Saturday, 5.30am to 11.30am
  • Late: Sunday to Friday, 3pm to 8pm

Part-time assistant martial arts instructor

A part-time assistant martial arts instructor is needed to join a team of instructors at Pyramid Martial Arts. 

  • Martial arts experience is essential.
  • You will preferably be a black belt in either freestyle kickboxing, sports karate or taekwondo. Applicants who are on a lower grading will be considered if they have the right mentality.
  • You must enjoy working with children and have a fun and outgoing personality, but be stern when required.
  • The successful applicant will also need to be patient and understanding of children's individual needs.
  • A DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service, formerly CRB) check will be required.

The successful candidate will be provided with full training and a uniform.
