Hotel vacancies

A new luxury hotel will be opening near the O2 later this year. They are looking for dynamic people to fill the following roles.

Assistant Director of Finance and Accounting  

  • Part of finance team
  • Reporting to Director of Finance
  • Contracted hours: As required by needs of business

The Assistant Director of Finance and Accounting manages the day-to-day operation of the accounting office. Primary responsibilities include financial analysis and financial reporting, budgeting and forecasting, audit and control, asset and liability reconciliation, working capital and cash control. You should have:

  • Five years in hotel accounting experience.
  • Knowledge of accounting software, preferably SUN system.
  • Demonstrate ability to interact with customers, employees and third parties that reflects highly on the hotel, the brand and the company.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office.
  • Problem solving, reasoning, motivating and training abilities.
  • Good communication and writing skills.
  • Have excellent attention to details.
  • Qualified or Part qualified (ACCA, CIMA) is preferred.

Assistant Front of House Manager

  • Part of Front Office team
  • Reporting to Front of House Manager

Your responsibilities include assisting in managing all aspects of the front office areas which may include but is not limited to guest registration, bell services, concierge services, business center, telephone services, and guest reservations to ensure guest satisfaction and maximise hotel profitability. Adhere to all brand standards and desk merchandising. Serve as Front Office Manager in his/her absence. You should have the following skills:

You should have a Bachelor’s degree in Hotel Administration, Business Administration or equivalent and two years of guest service / hotel experience with one year in a management capacity, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Assistant Meeting and Events Diary Manager

Deputy Head Housekeeper

  • Part of Housekeeping team
  • Reporting to Executive Head Housekeeper

Your responsibilities include assisting in managing the housekeeping and laundry operation to ensure product quality standards are met and that optimum service is provided to hotel guests according to hotel and company business objectives. Serve as Executive Housekeeper in his/her absence.

This job is second in command in the housekeeping department. Typically assists in managing a large number of employees in a full-service, luxury, resort, or major flagship hotel. May oversee subordinate supervisors.

You should have  a High School Diploma or equivalent plus two years housekeeping experience, preferably in a hotel of similar size and complexity, including one or more years of supervisory experience. Some college preferred. Must speak fluent English. Other languages preferred.

This job requires ability to perform the following:

  • Carrying or lifting items weighing up to 50 pounds and pushing and or pulling approximately 200 pounds
  • Frequently standing up and moving about the facility
  • Frequently handling objects and equipment to maintain the facility
  • Frequently bending, stooping, and kneeling

Care home vacancies

The vacancies below are with a group of local care homes for the elderly in and around the borough of Greenwich. If successful, candidates will be added to a reserve list, and called upon as needed. Therefore all the vacancies are casual hours, and are ongoing vacancies, with no closing date.

Bank chef

  • Casual hours

Recruiting for catering professionals to help out on a casual basis in a local care home's catering facilities, including in the main catering kitchen, a café and catering services.

You will be involved in supporting the day-to-day catering operations as cover for the existing teams, in tasks such as food preparation, cleaning, serving customers and operating kitchen equipment.

To be successful in this role you will need to have experience of working in a busy catering environment and have excellent customer-service skills with a person-centred approach. 

You will also need to be quality driven ,with a passion for food and committed to improving the nutrition of older people. You will also need to work flexibly with variable working hours available each week.

Bank registered nurse

  • Salary: £15.89 per hour 
  • Location: Blackheath

A local care home is looking for people to work as a bank registered nurse on a casual basis.

To join the relief bank you'll ideally have experience of working with older people or other vulnerable people (on a paid or voluntary basis), have a person-centred approach and be able to work as a member of a team to support residents. However a cheerful, sunny nature, flexible approach, enthusiasm, commitment and imagination are valued.

You will be friendly, approachable and caring, with good communication skills and the ability to work on your own initiative. Some practical healthcare experience and the ability to deliver planned care are essential, as is being able to work well in a team. Having an up-to-date Nursing and Midwifery Council PIN is important if you want to join the nursing team.
