Senior support worker

To be responsible to the unit manager for the delivery of services to children and young people. To cover for the unit manager in their absence and to have full management responsibility for the session to include all building related issues, evaluation of the session, completion of young people's attendance register and the recording and reporting of all accidents and incidents that may occur during the session.

  • Salary: £13.63 per hour
  • Hours: Part-time, fixed term contract 7.5 hours per week

Duties and responsibilities

In this role you will be required to:

  • establish contact with, listen to, advise and support young people, engaging them in effective positive relationships and promoting and encouraging their participation
  • contribute towards the planning and development of programmes which provide a range of accredited and recorded outcome within the curriculum framework, designed to meet the social, educational and personal development needs of young people, incorporating national and local initiatives
  • work directly with young people carrying out individual and group assessments, agreeing and implementing action plans and learning targets with young people
  • work as necessary with other relevant agencies both statutory and voluntary, to ensure a co-ordinated approach for he delivery of services
  • publicise and promote the services as directed by the unit manager
  • participate in appropriate training, staff development, supervision and team meetings as requested
  • assist with the preparation and administration as required ensuring the smooth running of the service to include programme planning, monitoring and evaluation
  • undertake ad hoc projects, provide cover to ensure continuity of service and carry out any other work appropriate to the level and general nature of the post's duties
  • carry out all duties with regard to the legal and statutory regulations, and to ensure that the trust's policies and procedures are adhered to.

Essential skills and experience

To apply for this position you should have:

  • a relevant youth work qualification
  • experience of working with young people in the 10 to 19 (up to 25 with LDD) age group
  • experience of providing informal education to young people through a curriculum based programme
  • experience of making contact with young people in a variety of settings, using a range of methods and to engage them in effective, positive relationships
  • an understanding of the issues faced by young people in their transition to adulthood
  • the ability to plan and implement a youth work curriculum
  • the ability to develop successful working relationships with other professional agencies and local communities
  • the ability to contribute to the delivery, monitoring and development of provision to young people in a variety of settings
  • the ability to direct, support, motivate and supervise staff, to identify training needs and to participate in appropriate training, staff development, supervision and team meetings
  • the ability to work as part of a team, leading, motivating and directing staff in order to provide the programme of activities and services
  • good communication skills
  • the ability to undertake administrative tasks including record keeping, writing project plans and reports and monitoring information
  • knowledge of the legal, statutory and other regulations and guidance affecting work with young people
  • an understanding of equality of opportunity policies and the ability to integrate equalities issues into the delivery of work
  • willingness to work flexibly in order to meet the needs and demands of young people

Desirable skills and experience

We are also looking for:

  • JNC Level 3 youth work qualification
  • experience of managing staff and volunteers

Marketing and Press intern

This role would be ideal for a humanities student or graduate adept at writing and research. This internship will give professional experience of a third sector marketing role.

Skills learnt will include the writing and signoff of copy, managing press relationships and arranging promotional events. This role will also include assistance with the on-going development of website, online platforms and social media campaigns.

  • Salary: £19,013 pro rata (London Living Wage)
  • Hours: Part-time, 2.5 days per week
  • Location: Charlton

Main duties

  • Draft copy for marketing materials and news releases
  • Identify case studies for use in marketing assets
  • Support events (photography, stakeholder liaison and follow up copy)
  • Maintain fundraising, events and email databases
  • Send regular press releases to local and/or national press where appropriate
  • Create and maintain relationships with press stakeholders
  • Identify media opportunities
  • Manage media lists
  • Any other tasks as directed by the marketing and communications manager.

Essential criteria

  • Educated to a degree level or equivalent
  • Experience in social media, specifically paid Facebook campaigns
  • Excellent copywriting and proofreading skills
  • Strong IT skills including Word, Excel and Powerpoint.

Skills

  • Ability to produce videos for use on websites and YouTube
  • Experience of taking photos at events
  • Experience using design software like Adobe InDesign and Photoshop
  • Good organisational and planning skills

Digital design intern

This role would be ideal for a graphic design student or graduate looking to build their portfolio and gain in house experience for a successful and growing charity.

The role will primarily focus on the timely turnaround of high quality marketing materials, primarily leaflets and digital assets. There will also be opportunities to create promotional videos to market courses and events.

Part-time Premises Manager

Emergency Exit Arts (EEA) are looking to appoint an experienced and proactive premises manager to take primary responsibility for the security and maintenance of Rothbury Hall, the external workshop and the storage facility. This will also include the tools and machinery used at EEA including sewing machines, 3D printers, laser cutter, woodwork and metal working tools.

  • Salary: £12 to £14 per hour, based on experience
  • Hours: Flexible hours post, approximately 14 hours per week, weekends and evenings as required
  • Location: Greenwich and Deptford

Knowledge and experience

Hate Crime Intervention Services Co-ordinator

This post-holder will work with partners to enhance the responsiveness of local services to victims of hate crime and, where relevant, their families and associates.

  • Salary: £28,485 to £30,153 per annum

Duties and responsibilities

As the Hate Crime Intervention Services Co-ordinator you will be answerable to the CEO and will be responsible for:

  • Representing the organisation at Hate Crime Case Panels and Hate Crime related forums, meetings and conferences
  • Liaising with statutory and voluntary sector partners to develop community based hate crime reporting and resolution mechanisms
  • Providing an effective Hate Crime Victim casework and advocacy service
  • Supervising Staff, Students and Volunteers engaged to support the delivery of the Hate Crime Intervention Services.

Essential skills and experience

The ideal candidate will have excellent strategic planning and project leadership skills, in addition to experience of effective support service delivery.

Trainee Site Supervisor Apprenticeship

This is a three year apprenticeship and whilst learning on the job will work towards completing either a NVQ Level 4 Construction Site Supervisor or a Level 3 Construction and Build Environment, depending on current experience of qualifications.

  • IT Skills (use of word, excel) including being able to prepare a satisfactory start of shift briefing
  • Communicate and liaise effectively with working gangs, colleagues, contractors and clients
  • Highly motivated, enthusiastic, passionate about the works they become involved in.
