Construction Formwork Pre-Apprenticeship Scheme

GLLaB and Kidbrooke Skills Centre are offering an exciting new apprenticeship scheme starting January 2018. Leading Contractors are developing Formwork Technology, and are looking for the right type of candidates to start a career in Formwork.

Formwork is the term used for the process of creating a temporary mould into which concrete is poured and formed when creating the concrete structure of buildings. Increasingly modern day construction is using Formwork and there is a shortage of skilled workers in this area.

This is a great opportunity to train and gain skills in a largely manual process, build a career and earn good money in the construction sector.

What is Formwork

  • Formwork is the use of support structures and moulds to create structures out of concrete
  • Working with different moulds, steel, wood aluminium or prefabricated forms
  • Panels used are lightweight and very robust
  • Used for mass housing schemes.

Formwork BOOT Camp - January 2018

  • Based at the Kidbrooke Skills Centre
  • Six weeks dedicated program
  • CSCS and L1 Health and Safety card
  • Practical set up of Formwork equipment
  • Work experience with various contractors using formwork technology
  • Employability support
  • Interviews with contractors using Formwork Technology.

How to apply

GLLaB are running a recruitment and information session on Monday 11 December 2017 at GLLaB's Work and Learn Centre in North Greenwich. Sessions will start at 10.30am and 2pm, so let us know if you have a preference.
