Employment and Skills support to help you find work

Greenwich Local Labour and Business (GLLaB) is the council’s employment and skills support service for Greenwich residents. We can match you to local jobs and provide support through tailored programmes:   

  • One-to-one personalised support 
  • Access to jobs, apprenticeships and training
  • Support with CVs, job search and interview preparation
  • Information to manage health and well-being
  • Help to apply for benefits and Better off calculations to manage your finances

     

Tailored support programmes include:

Restart Scheme

The Restart Scheme is part of the government’s Plan for Jobs to help people and businesses recover from the economic impact of the Covid-19 pandemic. The programme gives Universal Credit claimants, who have been out of work for at least 12 months, intensive and tailored support to find substantiable work.

The programme is delivered in partnership with Maximus UK and financed by the Department for Work and Pensions.

Job Entry Targeted Support (JETS) Scheme

Employment support to help people left jobless due to Covid-19, targeting those who have been out of work for at least three months, the scheme will provide up to 6-months of tailored and flexible support to help people get back into work.

The programme is delivered in partnership with Local London and Maximus UK, and co-financed by the European Social Fund and Department for Work and Pensions.

Community-based employment, health, and well-being support for people with disabilities, those with a health condition, the long-term unemployed and other disadvantaged groups to develop their skills and enter and progress in work. 

 

The programme is delivered in partnership with Local London and Maximus UK and co-financed by the European Social Fund and the Department for Work and Pensions.

Asylum Migration and Integration Fund Programme 

Integration and employment support for Third Party Nationals to access community services, activities and training, aimed at improving employment prospects and integration into the community.            

The Asylum Migration and Integration Fund (AMIF) is a European Union fund. The United Kingdom Responsible Authority manages AMIF funding in the UK.

 

Local London Works European Union European social fund

The programme provides up to 12 months employment support to help people who are long-term unemployed or economically inactive (not in receipt of an out of work benefit), to get back into work. 

The programme is delivered in partnership with Local London financed by the European Social Fund.
