Joining the Host Boroughs Employment and Skills Programme

Through the Host Boroughs Employment and Skills Programme, Greenwich Local Labour and Business (GLLaB) can offer employment support and work experience placements.

To be eligible for this programme you must be:

  • a Royal Greenwich resident
  • out of work for 12-months or more
  • not on Job Seeker's Allowance (JSA)
  • not on New Deal
  • not on Pathways to Work.

You qualify for the programme if you are:

  • a recent graduate who has not yet signed on to JSA
  • a non-claimant
  • claiming Income Support
  • claiming Employment Support Allowance but not on the Pathways programme.

What's on offer?

The opportunity offers:

  • a three to six-month work experience opportunity including travel expenses
  • intensive job search support
  • help with creating or improving your CV
  • support with completing application forms
  • other employment support tailored to your needs
  • in-work mentoring and support.

Training

A range of training is available, including CV and interview skills confidence-building courses, as well as vocational training, for example, in construction skills and security.
