Help with school or college transport costs
Transport support for 16 to 19 students
All under 18s in full-time education or unwaged training are able to travel for free on buses and trams.
Transport support for 16 to 19-year-old students
Please note that the Royal Borough of Greenwich's arrangements for post-16 transport support are currently under review. Young people aged over 16 may be eligible for help with the costs of travel between home and school or college in certain circumstances.
The funds available for transport costs are limited.
Students over the age of 18 years who are attending further education colleges should apply to their college.
Who is eligible?
To be eligible, applicants must:
- be resident in the Royal Borough of Greenwich for the duration of support. Any support provided will cease if the student moves out of the Royal Borough
- be over 16 and under 19 at the start of the relevant academic year
- have begun a course before reaching 19 and be continuing with that course.
