About the Blue Badge scheme

The Blue Badge is a government scheme set up to enable people who have difficulty walking to park close to their destination.

Find out where you can park with a Blue Badge

A Blue Badge doesn't give you access to the Taxicard or dial-a-ride services.

You must use your Blue Badge according to the terms and conditions. You could lose your badge or face a fine if you misuse your Blue Badge or allow others to misuse it.

Blue Badge service update

The DfT announced in March that all Blue Badges expiring between 01/01/2020 and 30/09/2020 would be exempt from receiving PCNs (Penalty Charge Notices).

This means that any blue badges expiring between 01/01/2020 and 30/09/2020 will have their date extended to 30/09/2020.

New badges and discount cards will not be sent out unless a renewal application is completed.

Charges in the congestion zone will not be applied to registered cars where their blue badges have expired after January, and this will be in place until the end of September.
