When you can replace a Blue Badge

You can replace a Blue Badge if it's:

  • lost
  • stolen
  • damaged, faded or illegible.

It can take up to four weeks for your replacement badge to be processed.

You'll be notified when your replacement badge is ready for collection and you'll need to collect it in person from the Woolwich Centre.

To renew a Blue Badge if it's nearly expired, read the guidance on apply or renew a Blue Badge.

If your Blue Badge is lost or stolen

If your Blue Badge has been stolen, you need to tell the police and then the Royal Borough of Greenwich (Mobility Team). If you've lost your Blue Badge, you only need to tell the Royal Borough of Greenwich.

You must notify the Royal Borough of Greenwich in writing about your lost or stolen Blue Badge.

Email mobility-duty@royalgreenwich.gov.uk or write to:

Mobility Team
Second floor
The Woolwich Centre
35 Wellington Street
London SE18 6HQ

You need to provide:

  • a passport style photograph
  • the fee for your replacement badge.

If your lost or stolen badge is close to expiry (less than three months), write and tell us it's lost or stolen but renew your Blue Badge instead of requesting a replacement one.

If your badge is later found

If you find your old badge after getting a replacement one, you should return your original Blue Badge to the Woolwich Centre.

If your Blue Badge is damaged, faded or illegible

If your Blue Badge is damaged, faded or illegible, you need to write and tell the Royal Borough of Greenwich and send an image of the badge plus the fee for your replacement badge.

If your new badge is close to expiry (less than three months), apply to renew your Blue Badge instead of requesting a replacement one.

Fee for the replacement badge

A replacement badge costs £10. You can pay by cheque or postal order at the Woolwich Centre.
