Ride the Games

Cycle route

Why not take in the sights of Greenwich with our Ride the Games cycle route?

The ride links the three main venues in the borough that will host events at the 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

The route starts at Firepower, taking you through Woolwich and Charlton. It then continues along the Thames Cycle Path finishing in the heart of the Maritime World Heritage Centre at Greenwich Park.

The route is 8 miles (12.8km) long. Most of the route is flat but there is a steep hill in Charlton.

Improvements

Some sections of the route are being improved and developed, especially in the East Greenwich area.

Both the Greenwich Foot Tunnel and Woolwich Foot Tunnel are being refurbished and cyclists may have to use other means to cross the river.

You can get a free full-colour guide to the route from the Greenwich Tourist Information Centre. It also available in local libraries and leisure centres.
