Equality and diversity in procurement

We are committed to achieving the environmental, social and economic objectives set out in the Greenwich Strategy.

The Commission for Race and Equality (CRE) guidance says: "Promoting race equality is not an extra that you choose to add on to your established procurement practice. The Race Relations Act 1976 (Amended) Regulations 2003 means that wherever race equality is relevant, you are expected to make it a part of all the policies, plans and processes involved."

Our procurement process considers the needs of the Council's local economy and small businesses objectives. Officers in the Strategic Procurement Services team will assist in delivering the Council’s objectives to support the local economy.
