Empty properties

The Home Improvement Team deals with privately owned properties in the borough that are empty, abandoned or derelict.

Empty properties can be an eyesore and can attract vandals or squatters. If brought back into use they can be of help to the large number of homeless people in the borough.

What will happen next?

We contact the owners and offer them help to bring the properties back into use.

Where properties have been neglected over time, the Council may take action to bring such properties back into use.
