You can add your child to the disabled children and young people's register if they live in the Royal Borough of Greenwich and both of the following apply:
- they're aged 0 to 19
- they have a physical or learning disability that's likely to have a substantial and long-term adverse effect on their ability to carry out usual day-to-day activities.
Contact the Families Information Service if you're not sure if your child is eligible for the register.
It's up to you if you add your child to the register - your entitlement to benefits such as disability living allowance won't be affected if they're not on it.
Being on the register doesn't require any contact or home visits from a social worker.
Find out more about Disability Living Allowance on Gov.UK.
Advantages of being on the register
Being on the register helps you to:
- be kept up-to-date about services, rights, entitlements, events and activities - via newsletters and bulletins
- get involved in discussions or consultations about future services and activities.
The register is confidential with information held on a password protected database.
