Business funding

There are a number of business awards to be won throughout the year that can get your business noticed and lead to new and exciting opportunities.

Local Media Works Awards

The Local Media Works Awards celebrate the UK's most outstanding planning talent across media agencies, planners and buyers. The awards will challenge media planners from across the industry to come up with the best local media campaign in response to a brief set by a national client.

The awards are open for all media agency planning or buying teams in the UK.

Prizes will be awarded across five categories. The best of the best category will have the opportunity to win £1,000 of Apple vouchers.

The deadline for entries is Friday 15 September 2017.

Discovering start-ups competition

Three winners will each receive a prize fund including one year Cambridge Wireless Founder Membership and a free exhibition table and one delegate pass for the 2018 Cambridge Wireless International Conference and other prizes to be announced!

Stelios Award for Disabled Entrepreneurs in the UK

All forms of entrepreneurial activities qualify and people planning to start a business activity are also welcome to apply. Applicants must be registered with a disability and own at least half of the business.

There is a top prize of £30,000 to the overall winner and four prizes of £10,000 to four other finalists.

The deadline for entries is Friday 6 October 2017.

The Environment Now

You must be aged 17 to 24 to apply for up to £10,000 and take The Environment Now challenge.

National Poetry Competition

There's a first prize of £5,000, second prize of £2,000, third prize of £1,000 and seven commendations of £200.

Employment and Social Innovation

The next deadline to apply is Friday 1 December 2017 and the last deadline to apply is Sunday 15 April 2018.

John Brabourne Awards

A film and TV talent development programme, providing financial awards from £1,000 to £5,000.

The deadline for submitting applications is Wednesday 31 January 2018.

Better Futures Clean Tech Incubator

The programme has a total budget of £1.6 million. The level of funding for individual businesses supported through the programme have not been stipulated. The package will include with leadership and management support, access to co-working space and business support in areas such as marketing, supply chain and product development.

Queen Elizabeth Scholarship Trust

The amount allocated depends on how much funding is needed for the Apprenticeship.
