Family learning at Greenwich Community College
Courses for families and community groups
Greenwich Community College runs over 40 courses for parents and children across Royal Greenwich, mainly based at local primary schools, but also working with libraries and nurseries.
The courses are intended to encourage children and parents to learn and work together helping them develop positive relationships and share the value of learning.
Courses in the past have included arts and crafts, modelling, positive parenting, helping your child to read, storytelling, family IT and workshops in family literacy and numeracy.
Half-term classes
In addition to the term-time programmes, the college also runs half-term workshops at several sites across Royal Greenwich, with up to 70 young people attending and joining in a wide and fun range of activities.
Bespoke courses
Greenwich Community College also organises courses especially tailored for local communities, parents, tenants and residents groups.
You can request the ideal time, place and subject and the team will do their best to accommodate you. Courses can last for anything from one hour to one year and the college will try to arrange childcare and other support where needed.
Many of these courses are not listed in the prospectus as they are run for particular groups on request.
If you would like to discuss your ideas for courses, please contact Greenwich Community College. The college is particularly interested in hearing from individuals or groups who have not had access to education or training in some time.
