Benefits for childminders

If you start working as a childminder, you may be able to claim a range of benefits.

Some benefits have special rules about earnings from childminding.

These rules mean that childminders are in some cases more likely to get benefit than people doing other types of self-employed work.

If you are working as a childminder or are thinking of becoming one, contact our Welfare Rights service for a free benefits check or for a copy of our Benefits for Childminders factsheet.
