Advice on benefits, tax credits and grants

The Welfare Rights Service advises Royal Greenwich residents on financial benefits.

Housing Benefit or Council Tax Benefit

If your enquiry is about the status of your housing benefit or council tax benefit claim, please contact the Revenue and Benefits service.

Free mobile calls to 0800 DWP numbers

Please note that many of the numbers for claiming benefits and tax credits begin with 0800 or 0845.

Calls are free to most 0800 Department of Work and Pensions numbers from BT landlines or mobile phones with O2, 3 UK, Orange, Tesco Mobile, Vodafone, T Mobile and Virgin Mobile.

If you are unsure, please check costs with your service provider. You may have to pay if you use another phone company. Ask for a call-back if you are concerned about the cost of a call.

There are different rules for calls to 0845 numbers, so check with your service provider.
