Seafarers' Benefits Advice Line

A specialist advice service is available for merchant seafarers, fishermen and their immediate families.

The Seafarers' Benefits Advice Line is a UK-based advice service operated by the Greenwich Citizens Advice Bureaux and funded by the Seamen's Hospital Society and Seafarers UK.

The service offers advice and information on:

  • benefits
  • tax credits
  • housing
  • employment
  • pensions
  • debt (including Council Tax)
  • consumer rights
  • relationships and family
  • immigration
  • charity grants.

Where to get help

Lines are open Monday to Friday from 10am to 4pm. Outside of these hours, or if they are already advising another caller, you will hear a recorded message inviting you to leave your contact details. All messages are returned.
