Pest issues from a neighbouring property

If you believe a pest issue comes from a neighbour, speak to them about the problem.

You may wish to jointly employ a pest control service to tackle the issue at both properties at the same time.

If the problem persists, email private-housing-regulation@royalgreenwich.gov.uk with a description of the measures you've taken to date. Include images or any other evidence from the neighbouring property.

Residential landlords

We do not expect private or non-council tenants to pay for pest treatment services.

Pest control is part of the landlord's cost of doing business so private landlords should pay pest treatment fees in all cases.

Private tenants

We do not expect private or non-council tenants to pay for pest treatment services and so we do not offer a direct chargeable treatment service to private tenants.

If you are a tenant of a private landlord and are experiencing difficulties with your landlord refusing to undertake or meet treatment costs you can contact us for advice. Email private-housing-regulation@royalgreenwich.gov.uk or call 020 8921 8157.
